About the item: Measuring 14 1/2 by 19 1/2 inches and rendered on Arches of France cold press art board using Dr. Ph. Martin's aniline dyes, this original features the work of acclaimed Playboy artist Doug Sneyd. It is the first rendering of a cartoon that appeared in the September, 1987 issue of Playboy. The first image features a photo of the original artwork. The second and third are scans of the artwork (in two parts). This listing also includes the original preliminary artwork to the cartoon as ultimately appeared (fourth scan) and the fifth scan (not included in with the listing and shown for reference only) is the finished cartoon as it was published in the 1987 issue. In excellent condition, it will be shipped with the utmost care. Please note- this is an actual, original piece of art drawn and colored by hand by Sneyd. It is not a copy, print or pre-printed image. It is a one-of-a-kind original. Buyer receives the original, first rendering of the artwork as well as the preliminary sketch for the second original that was ultimately published. Please note- this artwork, though not published in Playboy, was nevertheless published in The Art of Doug Sneyd.About Doug Sneyd:Doug Sneyd began his career in commercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers. He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for the Toronto Star, Canada's largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America). In 1964, he began working for Playboy and his gag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since. Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
