Here's the scion of Asgard, the MIGHTY THOR, nearing the end of his appearances in the science fiction/fantasy anthology comic, JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY, and with the advent of his self-titled series THE MIGHTY THOR less than a year away!

The excitement and energy of JACK KIRBY's dynamic art comes through here, and it's obvious how the power of KIRBY's storytelling propelled MARVEL into its period of superiority in the mid '60s!

Here in issue #107, Stan Lee's "When the Grey Gargoyle Strikes!" tells of how a scientist accidentally gains the power to turn himself into living stone, and to turn others into stone statues. He comes to New York to attack Thor, hoping to gain the secret of immortality. As Don Blake, THOR tricks him into falling into the river, and his stone body sinks to the bottom!

You also get a 5-page 'Tales of Asgard' featurette in this issue, with KIRBY illustrating the story of LOKI forcing the Norn Queen to tell him of Balder's weakness to mistletoe, and then trying to kill him with a mistletoe dart, but the Norn Queen herself stops him.

This 64-year old copy of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #107 is in very nice condition - with a strong binding, no tears, creases or pieces missing, normal toning for this period but with no foxing . . . .

. . . . And most importantly, it is signed on the splash page by jack kirby himself!!

We'll conservatively call this a 5.5 fn-.  the overstreet price guide values this issue at this grade at $75. Jack kirby's signature customarily commands an extra $25 - $40 dollar premium on issues starring the early superheroes he himself created!
