Very little information is available on this, the only issue, of ZOOM COMICS, a one-shot anthology comic published in 1945 by Red Band Comics., but also alternately credited to Carlton Publishing Inc.!

You get four varied and uncredited stories, None of which seem to have anything to do with the cover illustration!

On board for your enjoyment are DR. MERCY, a crime-fighting physician, CAPTAIN MILKSOP, a fumbling, cartoony semi-superhero, SATANAS, an evil alien expelled from his home planet of PLUTO, and come to Earth to conquer our civilization, and KING O'LEARY, the hard-boiled newspaper editor who uncovers a death scheme at the movie theater with the aid of Kitty, his star photographer!!

This is a fine copy of this seldom-seen comic and a perfect example of mid-1940s comic entrepreneurs trying out almost anything, any genre and any character, that might bring success! The cover still has its gloss, the binding is strong, and there are no tears, pieces missing, or ragged edges. Pages are supple, and the color is good - the only 'faults' are a bit of pencil writing on the front cover, and an easy-to-miss date stamp on the back cover.

We'll conservatively grade this copy a 6.0 FN which Overstreet values at $150 for this sole issue of ZOOM COMICS. . . but we'll make it easier for you to get this uniquity with a price of only $105!
