WORLD'S FINEST COMICS made its debut in 1941 and continued to 1986 with issue #323. The series was initially titled 'World's BEST Comics' for its first issue, but issue #2 (Summer 1941) switched to the more familiar name. Virtually every issue in its 45 years featured DC's two leading superheroes, SUPERMAN and BATMAN, with the earliest issues also featuring Batman's sidekick, ROBIN.

Here in issue #28 from the Spring of 1947, you get 6 great stories featuring the top-selling DC heroes of the time = SUPERMAN (In a bizarre battle, even against a statue of himself, the Man of Tomorrow must overcome Lex Luthor's "Ray of Life," which gives life to inanimate objects, which are then used by the arch villain to do his bidding.), GREEN ARROW, BATMAN & ROBIN (the Dynamic Duo face a maniac that uses glass minatures to kill), ZATARA the Magician, THE BOY COMMANDOES and JOHNNY EVERYMAN. OK - maybe Johnny wasn't exactly one of DC's brightest stars. Artists represented were George Papp, Henry Boltinoff, the great Curt Swan, and others.

This is a really lovely and clean copy of this 75-year-old comic book! It has a a strong square binding and 76 supple, bright pages! No pieces missing or ragged edges - we grade it (and so did the professional auction house from whence it came) an 8.0 VF. Overstreet grades this issue in this condition at $706.
