Fox Publications, in 1950, brought out the first issue of WILL ROGERS, a real-life Native American humorist and performer, who was a huge star of the silver screen and lecture circuits in the 1930s. (although it is #5, the numbering was continued from a previous Fox comic titled MY GREAT LOVE!)   He met a tragic end in 1938 in an airplane crash, but here, 12 years later, his fame and popularity were still strong enough to launch a comic book about his real-life - and fabricated - cowboy adventures.

Inside the photo cover, you get 5 Western tales starring, WILL ROGERS, as well as one starring Indian Brave FLYING EAGLE, and a 2-page text piece about KIT CARSON!

The artwork is not fancy, but well done, and the depictions of WILL ROGERS throughout are good likenesses.

This is a pretty good copy of this issue of one of the most beloved performers of his time. The cover is split at the lower staple, and is dimpled.  There is a stain at the top, and hard-to-see pencilled numbers.  The text story also has some doodling on one page. But the story pages are supple and colorful. 

We grade this conservatively at a 5.0 VG/FN, and as such, Overstreet values it at $77 . . . but we're letting you lasso this copy for just $35!
