Weird Tales Issue: 1 / Year: March 1923 Condition: G--First issue! -The first, most important and most influential of fantasy, horror and mystery adventure pulp magazines. This magazine changed the culture of American popular fiction. -The copy we offer is the first state edition with the story title "OOZE" printed in black. -Features "OOZE" by Anthony M. Rud and "The Thing of a Thousand Shapes" by Otis Adelbert Kline. -Additional authors in this key edition: Joel Townsley Rogers, Farnsworth Wright (who later became editior), RTM Scott and others. -Weird Tales #1 is to the pulp magazine field as Action #1 is to the comic book field. -The spine is mostly worn away and the covers have been attached with glue. Pages are supple with light tanning, still very readable. -Extremely rare. -Previously part of the Robert Weinberg Collection with Certificate of Authenticity.
