Tops Issue: 1 / Year: 1949 Condition: VG+-First issue. -Large format comic, 10 1/4" x 13 1/4". Published for adult readers. -Dashiell Hammett pulp type story. -Art by Reed Crandall, Bob Lubbers, George Tuska, Dan Barry and others. -Oversized comic book was too big to display with the other comics and was often placed near Life magazine on newsstands. The people who wanted Life or other similar sized magazines usually did not want comics. Those who bought comics did not notice this title on the stands and if they did, the 25 cent cover price prevented most purchases. -This title never found an audience and only lasted two issues. -Very rare and hard to locate today.
