Item DescriptionHere are Academy Award winners Tom and Jerry, in an issue that hit the newstands in 1955. Tom and Jerry cartoons were at that time second only to Disney shorts in popularity at the nation's theaters!
This is issue #134 from 1955. The 10-page lead story where Jerry and little Tuffy are behind a prank with a cute mechanical woodpecker that gets the better of Tom, has art by the master Tom and Jerry artist, Harvey Eisenberg, who was also the head of the layout dept. at MGM on all the cat and mouse duo's animated shorts! He contributed 14 pages of his typically beautiful cartooning to this issue.
This 52-page comic also contains stories with Spike & Tyke, Wuff the Prairie Dog (by Vivie Risto), Bertie Bird and Droopy! Ken Champin, Eisenberg's co-worker at MGM, handles a tale of Jerry and Tuffy
This is a wonderfully tight, flat, clean and glossy copy with no tears or splits - just a couple of tiny corner nibbles on the front cover It's easily an 8.0 Very Fine, which Overstreet says you should dole out $28 for! We say nay! We think $20 will make both of us happy . . especially combined with our L•O•W $2 shipping!
