Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's famous creation of THOR first took place in 43 issues of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY before the god of thunder got his own title in THOR #126.  Here are the tenth and eleventh issues of that long-running series!

In "The Maddening Menace of the Man-Beast!" in #135, THOR and the New Men defeat the Man-Beast - an evolution experiment on a Wolf gone wrong!  After an origin story of the High Evolutionary , he takes the spaceship part of Wundagore to the stars!  In the 'TALES of ASGARD' back-up feature that appeared in over 20 consecutive issues, Kirby and Colletta tell the tale ofThor and companions fight Fafnir the Dragon to save Volstagg in "The Fiery Breath of Fafnir!"

Issue #136 presents "ToBecome An Immortal" which tells how Jane Foster fails Odin's test for immortality and is sent back to Earth with no memory of Thor or Asgard! Thor then encounters the goddess Sif, Heimdall's sister, after many years. In 'Tales of Asgard' Thor and companions defeat Fafnir and return life to the land of Nastrond in "There Shall Come a Miracle!"

These are two really nice and supple 54-year old comics, with normal toning but no foxing, and only minimal stress lines or edge wear. There are date stamps on both front covers which lead us to grading these a 4.5 VG+. The Overstreet Guide feels $38 is appropriate for the pair - we feel $22 plus L•O•W $2 shipping is even MORE appropriate!
