Writer Roy Thomas and artiste extraordinaire Gene Colan present another action-filled AVENGERS tale - this time, it's "In This Corner . . GOLIATH!".

Returning home to AVENGERS MANSION from their visit to WAKANDA in the previous issue, an AVENGERS sub-group find that YELLOWJACKET and the WASP have returned from their honeymoon. HENRY PYM explains that he's abandoning the GOLIATH identity because his constant growing beyond his normal height caused his bout of schizophrenia.

Soon the AVENGERS learn that during her most recent mission for SHIELD, BLACK WIDOW has disappeared. To go and save her, HAWKEYE decides to take PYM's growth serum, and abandoned GOLIATH costume, to take on a new identity.

As GOLIATH rushes to her rescue, he is being watched by her kidnappers: EGGHEAD, PUPPET MASTER, and the MAD THINKER who are plotting to hold the whole world hostage with a powerful space station of their own design. They send out a giant robot, holding BLACK WIDOW captive. GOLIATH destroys the robot and saves NATASHA, and the two leave to inform the AVENGERS of the villains' plans.

This is a great copy of this 56-year old comic, with a strong binding, supple pages, minimal toning and good color. Not to mention another great story by Roy Thomas, and terrific art by Gene Colan!

We're conservatively grading it at 8.0 VF, for which the Overstreet Price Guide suggests a value of $54. We're going to make this issue a good bit more affordable for you at just $40 . . and our LOW shipping will sweeten the deal.
