In 1972 DC Comics obtained the rights to publish the comic book adventures of the iconic character TARZAN from previous publisher Dell Comics, and from the estate of the character's creator, EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS, as well.  None other than renowned artist JOE KUBERT was quickly signed to contribute his powerful art to this new series.

Here is the first issue of DC's TARZAN, starting off with a retelling retelling of TARZAN's origin. The comic includes reprints of the stories from the 1930s-era Sunday TARZAN Sunday comics pages so beautifully illustrated by the legendary HAL FOSTER.

You also get the first installment of MARV WOLFMAN and MURPHY ANDERSON's adaptation of BURROUGHS' 'JOHN CARTER OF MARS' epic.

This first DC issue (resuming the numbering from DELL's last issue) tells of TARZAN's origins, with both script and terrific illustrations by KUBERT.  He adapts the story from Lord and Lady Greystoke being marooned by mutineers, and their son, TARZAN, being raised by the great apes.

This 52-page copy of DC's TARZAN #207 is in great shape for its age of 53 years - the binding is strong, there is very little toning, and no creases, tears or pieces missing.  We're conservatively grading this copy an 8.0 VF, for which The Oversteet Price Guide suggests a price of  $35. . but we're asking only $22 here on HipComic for pages and pages of Jungle and Martian action!
