TALES OF THE SINESTRO CORPS was a series of four one-shot specials that tied in with the 2007-08 story line the SINESTRO CORPS WAR running through alternating issues of GREEN LANTERN (VOLUME 4) and GREEN LANTERN CORPS. SUPERMAN-PRIME #1 is the third issue in the run of four.

SUPERMAN-PRIME (upgrading his previously-held identity of SUPERBOY-PRIME) joined the galactic battle to attack most of the major heroes of Earth as part of the strike force of the SINESTRO CORPS. Due to the massive power difference between himself and the others, SUPERMAN-PRIME was able to cut a path of destruction throughout the known universe, once again successfully defeating KAL-EL as well as POWER GIRL and SUPERGIRL at the same time.

Geoff Johns penned "Into the Sun" wherein SUPERMAN-PRIME ravages his way through over four dozen main DC heroes, with appearances from teams of the Justice League, the Justice Society, the Teen Titans, The Metal Men, the OUTSIDERS, and others!

In the back-up story, Jerry Ordway illustrates "Fear Is a Baby's Cry!" telling of Sinestro Corps prisoner Lyssa Drak warning an expecting pair of Green Lanterns that there is a Sinestro Corps member who specializes in stealing the newborn infants of Green Lanterns!
