PRINCE NAMOR, THE SUB-MARINER was actually the 'grand daddy' of the whole MARVEL COMICS line, being the first SuperAnti-hero published in the 1940s by what would later become Marvel Comics! It wasn't until the late 1960s that he was able to earn his own title once more, after making several guest appearances in comics like DAREDEVIL, FANTASTIC FOUR and TALES TO ASTONISH.

Here is SUB-MARINER #36, featuring Master Ret-Con Genius Roy Thomas penning "What Gods Have Joined Together!" , a sly way of referring to the nuptials of NAMOR and the LADY DORMA.

Sal Buscema pencils the tale (inked by none other than Bernie Wrightson!) in which PRINCE NAMOR and LADY DORMA’s wedding day is marred when ATTUMA and his hordes attack Atlantis, and the outcome of the wedding shocks all who are assembled!

This is a great SUB-MARINER #36, with nicely glossy covers, a strong binding, terrific color, and no toning of its 54-year old pages! We conservatively grade this copy an 8.0 VF. The Overstreet Price Guide feels $20 is appropriate for this issue (largely because of Wrightson's inks) -- but we feel $11 plus our LOW shipping cost is even MORE appropriate!
