Innovative series by Peter Gillis features dynamic and exciting concepts as well some pencils and inks by the always fantastic Whilce Portacio, Russ Heath and Al Williamson! One of Marvel's more exciting ideas, by far!------------------------------------------------------------------------- 'Not so far in the future, Earth would be invaded by the malevolent alien Horde. Entire cities had been destroyed, and countless people had been enslaved by these vicious raiders. Even the most advanced armaments Earth had to offer were no match for their alien technology.Then a scientist, Dr. Kimmo Tuolema, discovered the Morituri process. This process replaced a subject’s metabolism with an entirely new one. As a result the subject gained superhuman abilities, making them powerful soldiers in Earth’s war for freedom. The only problem was that the new metabolism was inherently incompatible with a human body, killing the subjects within a year. The Morituri process made life worth living for many who would receive it, but it was also a death sentence.This series featured the first work by artist Whilce Portacio.' - ComicBase Atlas Archive Edition
