Item Description

SMOKEY STOVER was a goofy fireman who starred in his namesake screwball comic strip, created and drawn by Bill Holman from 1938 to 1970!  The strip was a treasure chest of sight gags, mishaps, puns, absurd vehicles, and bizarre household items and often made no sense until the final panel pay-off.

In 1953 and 1954 the National Fire Protection Association licensed the character to star in two promotional giveaway comics drawn by Bill Holman.  This is the second of the two 16-page comics with paper covers.  It contains 4 wacky stories.

This copy is in VG/FN condition, with the only blemishes being small 1/4" bites out of the last two pages, and a half moon tear on the back cover.  No artwork is affected.
