RAGGEDY ANN AND ANDY was among the very few comics of the Golden Age era to be mostly targeted to young girls.  After all, the main characters and most of their friends were DOLLS!

But serious collectors of DELL's output of this time knew to expect good quality art and gentle stories, and that's just what they got . . . and often offered up from the wit and talent of the great WALT KELLY!  This issue showcases 8 pages of his perfectly succinct and on-the-spot spot illustrations for Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes!

It's 52 pages also contain a 12-page Raggedy Ann & Andy story by George Kerr that also features Snoopwiggy, Grinny Bear, Maisie Moocow and Henrietta Holstein!  There's an 11-page Chucky the Colt story by Mo Gollub and 6 pages of Billy and Bonny Bee by Frank Thomas!

This is a beautifully-preserved copy, with a strong binding, supple pages and good color throughout.  Normal 74-year-old toning, but no foxing, tears or chips. The back cover has been written upon by young Tommy Wyman of Urbana, Ohio and that brings it down to a 5.5 FN- instead of something higher.  Overstreet says you should dole out $45 for this grade.  We think offering this at HALF of that - at $22.50 - will make both of us happy . . especially combined with our L•O•W shipping costs!
