Condition:This is THE original hand-painted color model cel created to advertise the TV pilot for the very first animated Fantastic Four' cartoon series, released by Hanna-Barbera in 1967. The series debut was on September 9, 1967. Notice this rare model cel is dated February 1967 when the project was in its initial stages of production - So this is the very first glimpse of the Fantastic Four animated series and the very first time the Fantastic Four appeared in animated form. Sue, Johnny, Reed, and (Ben) the Thing, are here designed by the incomparable Alex Toth! - The line inking on this cel would have been achieved through the (then still new) xerographic process, which essentially photocopied the artist's original pencils lines directly onto the cel, bypassing the need for an inker. Alex Toth would have then painted the colors by hand. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity from American Royal Arts. Framed and matted, with Plexiglass. Overall framed size is 23" - Condition is excellent .
