An unsuspecting, ordinary Earthling teenager, RICHARD RIDER, becomes the living rocket NOVA when dying Xandarian Centurion Rhomann Dey of the Nova Corps selects him to inherit the NOVA HELMET after the fall of Xandar. The infusion of power transforms an insecure, average student with a deep inferiority complex into a super hero, even as he juggles school and family pressures. Once he becomes battle-experienced, he evolves from the media-dubbed 'KID NOVA' into a seasoned hero.

Here are the first three issues of Marvels' NOVA, the young hero created by Marv Wolfman and designed & illustrated by John Buscema.

Issue #1 tells how, in orbit around Earth, the wounded Centurion NOVA-PRIME chooses a successor to assume his abilities -- and it is a high school student RICHARD RIDER! RICH assumes the costumed identity of NOVA and has to battle Centurion NOVA-PRIME's greatest foe, the conqueror ZORR.

In issue #2, NOVA fights the winged CONDOR, who has another super-powered youth, POWERHOUSE, under his control. And issue #3 brings in new Penciller Sal Buscema, and new villain DIAMONDHEAD, who is seeking more power to enable him to fight the DREADED ONE, which brings him into conflict with NOVA. Meanwhile, RICH RIDER faces problems at home and at school.

This is a trio of great-looking 49-year-old copies of NOVA with a strong bindings, supple pages and good color - and no toning.
