Grade: 9.4 NM
Adventure in Horror #1nm (1970, Stanley). Rare.Stories and art by J. Philip Tarleton, Thomas Arnes, William Cornish, Dave Kingston, William Dunlappe, and Howard Cherna. A lurid horror magazine from Stanley Morse Publications featuring posed photographs as illustrations (some of which must be seen to be truly appreciated). Professor Macready and his team of archaeologists find a woman's coffin and unwisely ignore the ancient curse burned into it. Peg discovers that those old legends about werewolves were all too real. Hapless models are lured into a maniac's torture dungeon. Love Is the Color of Blood; The Spell of the Witch; Howl, Wolf, Howl!; The Gory Terror of the Night!; The Unholy Six; Naked Slaves of the Master of Hell!; The Devil of Denham Swamp! 8 1/2-in. x 11-in., 64 pages, B&W.The "mm" preceding this listing indicates that this book is one copy of a special collection of (mostly) Monster Magazines. We're differentiating these, because this is arguably the nicest magazine collection we've picked up in our 42 years of selling back issues. Books graded nm- could often be candidates for best copy in existence. Even the vg condition copies have above average gloss, and many of these books are extremely hard to find - some I was unable to find a copy for sale on the internet in any condition! Strict grading. We will gladly combine orders in order to save you shipping. Thank you for patronizing with Friendly Frank's!
