* 9.4 NM (NEAR MINT) – Nearly perfect with only minor imperfections (slightly rounded corner, slight bindery defects, off-white to white paper, slight corner bend with no color break).

* 9.0 VF/NM (VERY FINE/NEAR MINT) - A nice copy that has a few other minor imperfections that keep it from NM (slightly blunted corner, minor bindery defects, off-white paper, minor corner bend with no color break).

* 8.0 VF (VERY FINE) – A nice copy with a few other minor imperfections that keep it from VF/NM (minor surface wear, color rub, slight water mark or foxing/yellowing, minor corner blunting, minor corner bend with slight color break, slight staple discoloration, cream pages, minor spine stress).

* 6.0 FN (FINE) – An average copy with several other imperfections that keep it from VF (moderate cover wear, slight water marks or foxing/yellowing, corner wear/blunting, 1/4" corner bend with color break, staple discoloration, slight spine roll, cream to tan pages with no brittleness, slight accumulation of spine stress or tears up to 1/4”).

* 4.0 VG (VERY GOOD) – The average well read comic with significant to moderate wear (significant cover wear/creases/dimples, water marks or foxing/yellowing, corner wear/blunting, corner bends with color break or small piece missing, staple discoloration, moderate spine roll, minor unobtrusive tape or repair, brown to tan pages with no brittleness, minor water damage, moderate accumulation of spine stress or tears up to 1 1/2”).

* 2.0 GD (GOOD) – A comic showing substantial wear otherwise known as a “reading copy” (cover has significant wear and may be detached, little to no reflectivity, book length creases and dimples may be present, 1/4” to 1/2" piece missing, 2” spine split, staple degradation, brown paper not brittle, significant spine roll, moderate to significant tears, moderate water damage).

* 1.0 FR (FAIR) – A comic showing heavy wear (cover has heavy wear and may be detached with no reflectivity, moderate to heavy water damage, book length creases with dimples and tears present, 1/4 of the front and/or back cover can be missing, brown paper that’s brittle around the edges, heavy spine roll, centerfold missing if still readable).

* 0.5 PR (POOR) – A comic that is virtually uncollectable (extreme brittleness, cover or pages possibly missing, extremely ragged edges, heavy water damage).
