KATY KEENE was a hugely popular "Queen of Comic Book Fashions" who appeared in several comic book series published by Archie Comics starting in 1945. Created by artist BILL WOGGON, she was a model/actress/singer marketed by the publisher as "America's Queen of Pin-Ups and Fashions".

Readers were encouraged to submit original drawings of outfits and accessories for her and her friends to wear, as well as designs for automobiles, homes, interiors, rocket ships, trailers and boats. These designs were used in the comics with credit given to the young creators of the published submissions. Many issues featured paper dolls of KATY in various costumes.

Here is the KATY KEENE ANNUAL #2 from 1959 - with a whopping 84 pages between cardstock covers, full of humorous stories of KATY, her little sister, and several boyfriends . . as well as an amazing array of outfits and fashions sent in by readers! The lead story involves KATY's main two suitors trying to impress her with their skills at Polo and Broco-Riding!!

There are three main stories, lots of one-page gags, and many activity pages, puzzles, pin-ups, contest results and paper dolls to cut out!

This is a pretty nice copy -  flexible pages, good color, minor toning, but with a tiny 3/8" tear and some wrinkles on the front cover as well as a small amount of page roughness in the interior..  We're calling it a 6.0 FN. What's that you say in your Price Guide, Mr. Overstreet? - $117.??!?  uh . . how 'bout we make it $97?
