Item Description
JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY was a series initially published by Atlas Comics, then by its successor, Marvel Comics. Originally a horror comics anthology, it changed to giant-monster and science fiction stories in the late 1950s. Beginning with issue #83 (Aug. 1962), it ran the superhero feature "The Mighty Thor", created by writer/editor Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, and was inspired by the mythological Norse god of Thunder. The series was renamed for its superhero star with issue #126 (March 1966),Inside the cover of #125 by Jack Kirby, in the 16-page lead story, "When Meet The Immortals!", THOR fights THE DEMON (a different one that Kirby created at DC Comics 5 years later!) to recover a Norn Stone. Afterwards, THOR returns to Asgard, only to face the wrath of ODIN who has learned that THOR has revealed his secret human identity to JANE FOSTER!
Jack Kirby also illustrates the TALES OF ASGARD back-up feature, "The Queen Commands!", the 8th part of the 'Odinsword Quest' saga, wherein the Flying Trolls of Thryheim confront Thor and his crew of Argonauts.
This copy of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #125 is in pretty good shape for its age of 59 years. There is typical toning, a rubber stamp date on the cover, and some ragged edges. The binding is good, but the cover has started to separate a bit from the bottom edge.
All these factors actually work to your advantage: making this the most affordable JiM #125 here on HipComic! We're conservatively grading it a 4.0 VG, for which the Overstreet Price Guide suggests a price of $33.00. We're going to make this issue a bargain for THORists at just $22. . with our always-L•O•W shipping of just $2!
And don't forget -- additional purchases on the same order ship FREE!! No extra charges for more than one comic!
