Inside the text-laden front cover by Jack Kirby, one of THOR's best-known recurring foes is introduced: Crusher Creel, aka The Absorbing Man!  In the 16-page lead story, "The Stronger I Am, The Sooner I Die!", a vengeful Loki uses his magic to turn brutal prisoner Crusher Creel into the Absorbing Man.  Thor and Creel meet and fight, with Creel quickly adapting to his new-found abilities.  Balder then interrupts the fight by transporting Thor to Asgard. It seems that Loki has abducted Jane and brought her to the Golden Realm. Thor and Balder ride off to save her. Back on Earth, Creel believes he has defeated the Thunder God.

Stan Lee scripts . . Jack Kirby brings it to life!

Kirby also illustrates another TALES OF ASGARD installment, "The Golden Apples", which turns out to be sort of an Asgardian version of 'Little Red Riding Hood'!

This copy of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #114 is in pretty nice shape for being 60 years old! The binding is strong, the covers have a degree of gloss, normal toning for this period, and there are no creases, tears, ragged page edges or pieces missing.
