Inside the cover by Jack Kirby, in the 18-page lead story, "The Thunder God Strikes Back!", (continued from issue #105) THOR evades the Cobra and Mr. Hyde and transforms back into Dr. Blake, then pretends to betray THOR in order to get his cane back. He becomes THOR and defeats the Cobra easily, though Hyde escapes by becoming Calvin Zabo and slipping away. Hyde attacks THOR later, but is defeated. When Blake returns to the office he discovers that Jane hates him because of his seeming betrayal of THOR.

Jack Kirby also illustrates the TALES OF ASGARD back-up feature, "Balder the Brave!", the first part of an origin story of BALDER, wherein ODIN orders BALDER executed for leaving a battle to rescue a fallen bird, but 0 is so beloved that the animals and plants keep any harm from coming to him, and ODIN concedes and makes him invincible.

You also get a one-page text story, a true tale of desperation and evil on the high seas in World War I.

This copy of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #106 is in pretty great shape for its age of 61 years. There is minimal toning, but the spine is in great shape, and no tears, creases or pieces missing.  There are, however, a few pages with misregistered color that lead us to lower our condition rating -- but Jack Kirby's brilliant artwork still shines through!

 We're conservatively grading it a 5.0 VG/FN, for which the Overstreet Price Guide suggests a price of $63.00.  We're going to make this issue a bargain for THORists, at just $40 . . with our always-L•O•W shipping of just $2!
