JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY started life in June of 1952 as a Monster/Horror anthology series, transitioned to science fiction, and then opened its doors to the legendary Jack Kirby and his amazing creativity in August of 1962 with the debut of The MIGHTY THOR as the star of JiM. By issue #125, JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY realized the importance of its Norse star, and what was to have been issue #126 now bore the title of THOR!

Here in issue #104 on its march to THORness, and inside the cover by Jack Kirby, the 13-page lead story is "Giants Walk The Earth!",  wherein ODIN makes a rare appearance on Earth to settle the matter of THOR's love for JANE FOSTER. At the same time, LOKI frees SKAGG, the Storm Giant, and SURTUR, the demonic Fire God, so that he never has to relinquish his power over Asgard. THOR, BALDER and ODIN defeat the giants and LOKI is punished.

Jack Kirby also illustrates the TALES OF ASGARD back-up feature, wherein ODIN decides to appoint a sentry and guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, and auditions Agnar, Gotron and Heimdall for the job -- and guess who gets it!  It's all revealed in the tale, "HEIMDALL, Guardian of the Mystic Rainbow Bridge!

You also get a one-page text story, and a 5-page alien-invasion story from Stan Lee's brother Larry Lieber!

This copy is in very nice shape for being 61years old. There are no tears, creases, pieces missing, or ragged page edges.  The binding is strong and the colors are good - which leads us to a conservative grading of 6.0 FN, for which the Overstreet Price Guide suggests a price of $81.  We're going to make this issue a bit more affordable for THORists at $48. . with our always-L•O•W shipping of just $2!
