Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's famous creation of THOR first took place in 43 issues of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY before the god of thunder got his own title in THOR #126.  

In "Slave of the Tomorrow Man!", THOR covertly helps Zarrko conquer the 23rd century world, but then turns on him and defeats him, winning back ODIN's favor.  Great art by JACK KIRBY and Chic Stone!

In the 'TALES of ASGARD' back-up feature that appeared in over 60 consecutive issues, KIRBY and Paul Reinman tell the tale of a young THOR rescuing SIF from HELA, Goddess of Death, and earning the right to carry the Hammer of ODIN in "Death comes to Thor!".  It's a boyhood tale from when THOR was just 18, and contains the first appearance of both SIF and HELA!

This is a good-looking 61-year old comic, with normal toning but no foxing, and practically no stress lines or edge wear. The binding is strong, there are no ragged edges, tears, creases or pieces missing. We feel confident in grading this a 6.0 FN for this issue.  
The Overstreet Price Guide feels $160 is appropriate - but we feel just $105 plus L•O•W shipping is even MORE appropriate . . . and puts this JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #102 into your hands for far less than any other #102 on HipComic!!!
