Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's famous creation of THOR first took place in 43 issues of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY before the god of thunder got his own title in THOR #126.  Here is JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #101 from early 1964.

In "The Return of Zarrko, The Tomorrow Man!",LOKI convinces ODIN to greatly reduce THOR's power as a punishment for loving Jane Foster, . . and LOKI then restores the memory of the TOMORROW MAN so that he can come back in time and defeat THOR. He builds a powerful robot, and when THOR cannot defeat the mechanical giant, he agrees to help the TOMORROW MAN conquer the 23rd century.

In the 'TALES of ASGARD' back-up feature that appeared in over 60 consecutive issues, Stan Lee and Kirby tell the tale of "The Invasion of Asgard! [The Boyhood of Thor! Part 2]", wherein LOKI makes a hole in Asgard's defenses and lures THOR there to face an attack alone. THOR holds off the enemies of Asgard until help arrives.

You also get two Science Fiction stories (that don't really fit in with the rest of this issue)!

This is a well-read and enjoyed 61-year old comic, with normal toning but no foxing, and only minimal stress lines or edge wear. There are a few of ragged page edges, but nothing that will affect your enjoyment of reading this very early THOR adventure!   We feel confident in grading this a 3.5 VG- for this issue.  It's a great 'reading' copy just for the joy of seeing Kirby's comics mastery! 

The Overstreet Price Guide feels $56 is appropriate, even in this condition - we feel $30 plus our customary L•O•W shipping is even MORE appropriate!

This makes it - by far - the most affordable copy of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #101 currently available on HipComic!!
