Here's a 4-issue Mini-series from 1985, from the continuity- and creative genius Roy Thomas, and his wife Dann, rethinking the Golden Age character of Johnny Thunder, and transforming him into the alluring detective JONNI THUNDER, who fights crime with the help of the mystic creature THUNDERBOLT!

The original character of JOHNNY THUNDER was created in 1940 and debuted in the very first issue of FLASH COMICS. He was able to control YZ, an energy creature from the fifth dimension, and the two appeared alongside the JSA in numerous adventures.

But in this 1980s update the Thomases, with Dick Giordano on art duties, recreate the formula of a human with a preternatural 'genie', and created JONNI THUNDER, a los Angeles detective following in her father's detective footsteps.

In this 'reintroduction' mini-series, the THUNDERRBOLT being inadvertently is released from a statue that belonged to JONNI's father, and aids JONNI in a murder investigation. She is rendered unconscious when the THUNDERBOLT emerges, but remains mentally in control of the creature. Together, they make a powerful crime-solving duo!

These 4 issues, in addition to the continiuing story, contain several text pieces by Roy and Dann recounting the JOHNNY THUNDER history, as well as several pages of Dick Giordano's sketchbook as he worked out the designs of JONNI and the THUNDERBOLT.

These are near-pristine copies of the mini-series -- the bindings are strong, the colors are bright, the covers still have their gloss, and there are no creases, stress lines, tears, or pieces missing . . it's 144 pages of great-looking action in top-notch condition!
