This 68-page one-shot special from 2007 details the rise of the evil 'army' led by Grenn Lantern's greatest foe: SINESTRO of the planet Korugar!  This is the precursor to SINESTRO assembling the corps of fear that eventually includes over 30 distinct and detailed members, from the all-powerful ANTI-MONITOR, to IMECSUB, a purple-skinned, bug-eyed alien who looks like actor Steve Buscemi!

In this issue Kyle Rayner becomes Parallax. Cyborg Superman and Earth-Prime Superboy make appearances, along with all 5 Green Lanterns that call Earth home, and over a dozen recognizable members of the intergalactic Green Lantern Corps.

The 47-page main story by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, is followed by a 7-page back-up story detailing the origin of Sinestro with the wonderful artwork of 'Watchmen's Dave Gibbons.

This is another imaginative world-building in the GL universe by Johns, and dovetails nicely with his creation of the different-colored emotion rings and the massive "Darkest Night'' series.  A key issue for real GL fans who try to follow the sometimes-bewildering chronology of the GREEN LANTERN canon!
