By the time issue #75 of GREEN LANTERN rolled around, Hal Jordan had left Coast City and his job as a test pilot and was roaming the West Coast as a TOY Salesman!!  A rather unique secret identity for a space-faring superhero!  This issue has another ingeniously creative script from one of GREEN LANTERN's best Silver Age writers - John Broome - and beautifully dynamic illustrations by the incredible Gil Kane.

In "The Golden Obelisk of Qward!", Hal Jordan's coworker - but toy sales rival - redheaded Olivia Reynolds, falls mysteriously sick and Hal attempts to find the cause of her strange illness. Following the trail of an energy that is affecting her secret telepathic powers, GL enters the anti-matter world of QWARD, populated by a powerful and vicious race of 'Weaponers'.

GL tracks the source of the energy beams to a monolithic tower believed by the citizens to hold a cache of superior weapons, as well as untold riches, and , fighting off the Weaponers, he manages to collapse the Tower, but finds it empty.  He is then able to return to Earth and find Olivia cured!

This is a great-looking 54-year old GREEN LANTERN -- no creases, tears, pieces missing, or abnormal toning. The binding is strong, and the colors are bright!  There is just a small bit of edgewear on the cover, but nothing more!  We grade this a 6.5 FN+. . . which Overstreet values at $24 . . . but we're pricing it at just $14 which gets you this issue at the best price on Hipcomic!
