THE NEW 52 was the 2011 revamp and relaunch by DC Comics of its entire line of ongoing monthly superhero comic books. Following the conclusion of the "Flashpoint" crossover storyline, DC canceled all of its existing titles and debuted 52 new series in September 2011, with all the new #1 issues heralding in a 'soft reboot'.  

Here are the first 5 issues of Volume 5 of the Legacy title, GREEN LANTERN.  But the GL of Sector 2814 is no longer good ol' HAL JORDAN -- the official Earth Ring-Bearer is now none other than SINESTRO! 

These issues tell the story of SINESTRO's installation as Earth's protector, and his 'deputizing' of the ringless HAL JORDAN, in order to aid SINESTRO in restoring his home planet of KORUGAR to the native citizens, and freeing them from the oppression of the remaining SINESTRO CORPS members who hold them in their thrall!

In addition to subterfuge and setbacks and duplicity in the attempt to retake KORUGAR, we also get the subplot of HAL trying to rekindle his relationship with CAROL FERRIS - his former boss and fiancé! 

These are terrific-looking issues - and how could they NOT be, with the fantastic storytelling of GL Maestro Geoff Johns, and the dynamic penciling of Doug Mahnke?
