Item DescriptionHere's another entry in the huge category of 'Weird 1940s Funny Animal Comics'. There were a plethora of these at the dawn of humor comics (Ha Ha, Giggle, Happy, Barnyard, etc.) and it's fairly obvious they were all trying out the slapstickiest talking animal stories they could come up with, in the hopes that one or more would become popular enough to sustain their own title.
Sadly, none of the characters in this issue ever went on to lasting fame!
You do get Uncle Pigly, Rube Rooster, Crock O'Dile, and Racey & Gracie, among others, from East Coast cartoonists like Terrytoons animator Victor 'VEP' Pazmino (who also did the cover), Bill Hudson, Woody Gelman and others, with Disney animator Ken Hultgren thrown in for good measure!
The cover and binding are tight on this 52-page comic, with bright colors, and typical 75-year old toning but no foxing. We call it a 5.0 VG/FN - you might call it something even better! Overstreet thinks you would pay $35 for this grade . . . we think you'd rather pay our $15 plus L•O•W $2 shipping! Just call us GOOFY!
