Item DescriptionLegendary 'Tom and Jerry' and 'Ruff and Reddy' animation layout artist Harvey Eisenberg also made a name for himself in Funny Animal comic books. FOXY FAGAN is a character he created for Dearfield Publishing in 1946 and drew him in all 7 issues. Here he is in issue #6 along with his Droopy-like sidekick, Bobble!
Schemer Foxy tries to make a go of his new Gas Station business, but even with Bobble's help he winds up on the short end of things, as usual! The lead story, involving 6 St. Bernards and $98 worth of steaks, is 13 pages long, with clever and snappy dialogue.
Other characters featured in this issue are Mrs. Squawky Talky, Little Buck, and Pete and Tweet (looking like it was drawn by someone who worked on the 'Tom and Jerry' shorts!).
We conservatively grade this copy at VG/FN - the only defects being a small pencil squiggle, and a few pin pricks on the cover, and some discoloration/staining on the back cover. Binding is solid. Overstreet values this issue in this condition at $20. We think you'll be happy when you see we've priced it at $8 . . and even happier when you see our LOW shipping cost!
