Jim Davis - the talent behind The Fox and the Crow comics - being uncommonly adept at depicting the conflicts between talking animals, created the Canary - Cat - Dog trio of combatants, "FLIPPITY AND FLOP", in 1950. Flippity is the clever canary, Flop is the conniving cat, and Sam is the dim-witted dog, who missed out on star-billing in the title!

Issue #1, from late 1951, is a perfect example of these three in their never-ending skirmishes. Jim Davis illustrates 4 FLIPPITY AND FLOP stories, plus a tale of the two goofy mice, 'TWIDDLE AND TWADDLE'.  The early 1950s ads sprinkled throughout - from Kellogg's PEP and Nabisco Shredded Wheat to Vitalis hair Cream and Lionel Trains - are neat to see!

This 69-year-old DC comic is in beautiful 7.0 FN/VF condition: the binding is tight and flat, pages are creamy with bright color, and there are no tears or other blemishes. Normal edge toning but no foxing. 

Overstreet says $160 for this DC issue in this grade --- we say only $82 - it's the only 'FLIPPITY AND FLOP #1' here on HipComic!  And LOW shipping makes this NO FLOP of a bargain!!
