This is a very attractive copy of a 75-year-old comic - and one that showcases the plotting, dialogue, posing and staging of the legendary CARL BARKS!  This is Donald's 7th solo outing in the Dell Four Color series, from 1946, with 3 terrific stories from the amazing imagination of 'The Good Duck Artist' (as he was known before his identity became public knowledge in the '50s!)  

In "The Terror of the River", Donald's sneezes at an auction are mistaken for bids on a houseboat, and soon he and the nephews are sailing down the Ohio River. There they encounter a huge serpent, which they later learn is an elaborate submarine whose captain gets his pleasure from scaring people!

In "The Firebug", Donald falls on his head when getting up one morning and turns into a pyromaniac, setting harmless fires but also getting the blame for big fires set by another firebug!

And in "Seals Are So Smart", the nephews play ball at the beach with a baby seal, and this sets Donald to dreaming of how much money he could make with a trained seal act.

This is a super-nice copy with its strong binding, absence of creases or chipping, and supple pages.  It has bright colors and no foxing! There is a small, easy-to-miss 1/2" tear on the back cover. If you're looking for a quality copy for your Donald Duck or Carl Barks collection, this is it!  Overstreet values this issue, in this grade, at $500.  We've enjoyed it for years and can say goodbye for $480.  Plus FREE SHIPPING!
