DETECTIVE COMICS, debuting in 1937, was the final publication of the entrepreneur Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson, whose comics company, National Allied Publications, would evolve into DC COMICS, one of the world's two largest comic book publishers, though long after its founder had left it. It was the birthplace, in issue #27, of Bruce Wayne and his alter ego of BATMAN!

Here, 32 years after his momentous debut, you get the Caped Crusader in "A Vow From The Grave!" by Denny O'Neill with illustrations (and cover art) by the legendary Neal Adams and superlative inker Dick Giordano. BATMAN captures escaped killer Kano Wiggins and also helps solve the murder of a member of a circus side-show, with great character portrayals of the sympathetic "freaks" by Adams!

You also get the 7-pg back-up story, "Battle of the Three M's!", written by Frank Robbins, and with pencils by Don Heck and inks by Giordano. BATGIRL finds herself in danger while investigating high-fashion espionage!

This is a terrific-looking 52-year old comic - the binding is strong, the colors are bright, the covers still have their gloss . . just in top-notch condition.
