Here's the first CONAN THE BARBARIAN ANNUAL, and you can bet all the enthusiastic Conan fans of the early 70s were chomping at the bit to get their hands on this big, 52-page 'album' of two of the most popular stories from Conan's first year in comics - "Lair of the Beast Men" from issue #2, and "The Tower of the Elephant from issue #4. Both of these stories were nominated for the prestigious 'BEST STORY' award in their respective years of 1971 and 1972 by the ACADEMY OF COMIC BOOK ARTS!

With scripts by Roy Thomas and incredibly fresh and unique artwork by Barry Windsor-Smith, these two tales resurrect the excitement of Conan's first few years, when he was a novel and innovative hero in the comic book landscape.

Also included here are an article about CONAN THE BARBARIAN's success at the ACADEMY OF COMIC BOOK ARTS AWARDS in 1970 and 1971, and a half-page map laying out 'The Hyborian Age Of Conan (Circa 10,000 BC)'.

This square-bound copy is in great shape, with a strong binding and no splits, tears or missing pieces. We conservatively grade it a 7.5 VF-, reduced from a 9.0 due to a bit of spine curl, but the art is unaffected throughout. The Overstreet Guide folks say $18 for this grade -- we think you'll be happy with a price of $13 and our L•O•W shipping costs!
