NEWSSTAND EDITION. Cover by Jack Kirby. Adapted from H. P. Lovecraft's "The Music of Erich Zann." Following the 2021 Overstreet Guide to Grading Comics (6th Edition), we grade this as VF (8.0). One owner. One read! There are no  major concerns with the comic that are not seen in the picture. However, there is a .25 inch chip on left side back cover. We consider this to be one of those, "certain defects are allowed if other defects are not present" things. This defect is NOT continued in the interior. This item is an excellent item with outstanding eye appeal. Item looks as if it has been carefully handled. There may be a limited accumulation of minor bindery or printing defects; one or two more than a VF+ item. The cover is relatively flat with minimal surface wear beginning to show, including minute wear at the corners. Inks are generally bright with moderate to high reflectivity. A 1/4” crease is acceptable if color is not broken. Penciled, stamped, or inked arrival dates may be present. Apart from a slight spotting effect (foxing) usually at the edges, there is no soiling, staining or other discoloration. The spine is almost flat with no spine roll. Minor color breaks may be seen. The staples may show some discoloration with very slight staple tears, and a few very minor-to-minor stress lines may be present. There is no rust migration. Paper is cream to light tan, and supple. No hint of acidity in the odor of the newsprint. No interior autographs or owner signatures. Centerfold is secure. Any minor interior tears are in the margin.
