CAPTAIN STERNN: RUNNING OUT OF TIME was a five-issue humorous Science-Fiction series from Kitchen Sink Press. Created by BERNIE WRIGHTSON in the late 1970s, the character of Capt. LINCOLN F. STERNN, described as "part Han Solo, part James Garner", had his first adventure published in 1977 by Tyrannosaurus Press, and the character further appeared in 1980s issues of HEAVY METAL magazine.

As a somewhat unscrupulous space commander with a floating robotic side-kick named BEEZER, STERNN was a popular animated segment of the cult-classic ‘HEAVY METAL: THE MOVIE’ feature film of 1981, voiced by Second City's EUGENE LEVY.

This is the first issue of what became a self-contained limited series of 5 issues published by Kitchen Sink Press in 1993/94, wherein STERNN escapes conviction for his numerous crimes and focusses on redeeming himself by traveling through time to learn the secret recipe of Cosmic-Coola!

WRIGHTSON wrote this story, and his seldom-seen adeptness with humorous art is on display here in this rather slim issue (12 pages!).

This copy of CAPTAIN STERNN: RUNNING OUT OF TIME #1 is in near-pristine condition, with a strong binding and great color. Overstreet cites a price of $6 for an 8.0 VF copy . . but we think $4 is a fair asking price for this 30-year old book . . . with our incredibly-L•O•W shipping as a bonus!!
