Item Description
As a 40 year serious collector I have acquired a vast inventory of most major Marvel and DC titles, as well as many Independents, Graphic Novels, Trades and hard Cover books. I believe my grading to be conservative and based on one THING, Can the book pull the said grade from Third Party Graders Like CGC, and CBCS. Ive submitted many books for grading and I have also cracked out plenty of CGC and CBCS books for my personal collection over the years. I will securely and promptly ship all orders and will be more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I will continue adding more comics, cards and books to my store here. Thank You for stopping by for a look.Ive been an Hip member since 1999 and a Top Rated Hip seller with 100% Positive Feedback for over a decade. The time has come for me to start selling my treasured High Grade Captain America collection. As a life long collector of high grade comic books I completed this Captain America Run, Yes ALL 454 issues. It took me a little over 10 years to complete the entire run in the higher grades I was looking for. Some were cracked out from CGC / CBCS slabs. I will be listing more high grade Silver Age Cap books as time allows.
All the books I will be listing are Original unaltered books. None have ever been pressed or altered in any way.
I have been a long term seller of Comic Books and other collectables for over 20 Years and Hip Comic for the past 5 years. Please check my feedback.
My goal is a Smooth transaction with serious buyers looking to add higher grade Silver Age books to the collections.
Book Information & Description:
CAPTAIN AMERICA #153 (7.5 VFN- ) 1st Jack Monroe(Nomad) / 1st Steve Englehart Script / 1972
* First (cameo) appearance of Jack Monroe in "Captain America -- Hero or Hoax?" Part 1 of 4. Guest-starring Nick Fury. Script by Steve Englehart. Pencils by Sal Buscema. Inks by Jim Mooney. Cover by Sal Buscema and Frank Giacoia. A new era for the star-spangled avenger opens with an epic fight between the Sentinel of Liberty and the Director of SHIELD! Oh my, what are the two icons from World War II fighting about? Actually, it's who: La Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine. Once the no-holds-barred conflict ends, changes are made. Agent 13 quits SHIELD, and Steve and Sharon fly to the Bahamas for vacation. In the meantime in Harlem, the Falcon is shocked to see Captain America beating up a local resident. He knows Steve Rogers is out of the country. So who is this person? And why is his accomplice dressed like Bucky Barnes? First appearance of William Burnside in the silver or bronze age. Cameo appearances by Leila Taylor and Redwing. (Notes: Several years later Jack Monroe will become the second Nomad. This issue begins Steve Englehart's classic 3-year run as the writer of the Captain America 1st series.) 36 pages
* Up for your consideration and viewing pleasure is another Great looking Captain America Issue! This classic Key issue features an all-time great Sal Buscema cover! The condition sensitive black cover always makes finding this book in higher grade very challenging. The copy offered here is in beautiful condition, the book displays like New original cover color and gloss with very minor to no surface wear (No Creases). The book has a Very nice cover wrap with a few minor spine stresses by the staples. The back is clean with a light surface scratch by bottom. The interior is complete with NO: cut outs, Writing, etc.. The book has nice page quality and I believe that it is strong enough to pull 7.5-8.0 Grade with any grading company out there. Again.... Ive certainly seen lesser books in VFN Slabs. as noted.... this issue is the start of the Legendary 3-year run Steve Englehart would have on the Original Cap title. Good Luck Finding a nice One!
