Astounding Stories Vol. 13 #5 (Street & Smith, 1934) Astounding Stories Vol. 13 #5 (Street & Smith, 1934) Astounding Stories Vol. 13 No. 5, published in July 1934 by Street & Smith Publications. Edited by F. Orlin Tremaine, this issue features the classic cover story “The Son of Old Faithful” by Raymond Z. Gallun, with striking cover art by Howard V. Brown. This issue comes from the early transitional period of Astounding Stories, just before the magazine evolved into Astounding Science-Fiction, the most influential title of the pulp era. The cover captures Brown’s signature scientific realism, depicting a futuristic laboratory scene with mechanical beings and scientific apparatus. Additional stories by Nat Schachner, Harl Vincent, and R. F. Starzl add to this issue’s strong representation of early 1930s science fiction. Your copy remains vibrant and structurally sound for its age, with moderate edge wear and a small corner chip. The spine is solid, and the pages are cream to light tan and fully intact. Shipping Fast U.S. shipping. All books are carefully packed to ensure safe delivery. Collectibles are shipped via your selected method and fully insured. Pop Culture Hobbies LLC may substitute carriers when necessary. Orders over $500 may require signature confirmation. Please note: Hip’s Best Offer option does not allow buyers to request an invoice for combined shipping.
