Here's a great-looking copy of AQUAMAN #35, from back when that Orange and Green costume was a familiar sight in JLA adventures! Equally amazing - it contains the first appearance of one of AQUAMAN's greatest foes - BLACK MANTA!

In "Between Two Dooms!", AQUAMAN and his family encounter a mysterious submarine, threatening to attack ATLANTIS! Sending his family to safety, AQUAMAN investigates the ominous vessel, but is gripped by some kind of Bio-Magnetism and is imprisoned against the hull of the submarine . . which is revealed to be commanded by the evil BLACK MANTA, in his first DC appearance!

BLACK MANTA releases his minions - the Manta-Men - and releases a chemical into the water, which begins to seep through the dome and into Atlantis. AQUAMAN's wife, MERA, leads an evacuation from the city.

AQUAMAN manages to free himself, but not before BLACK MANTA has seized AQUAMAN's younger son, AQUABABY, and demands AQUAMAN surrender before the infant is returned. But AQUAMAN's brother, OCEAN MASTER, returns and battles BLACK MANTA. AQUAMAN is caught in the middle as two villains battle!
