Here's a seldom-seen Golden Age rarity - a 1951 one-shot comic book adaptation of the popular Science Fiction novel 'The Radio Man' from 1924, illustrated by fan-favorite WALLY WOOD!

The script for this 36-page adaptation is by an uncredited writer, but the great artwork by WALLY WOOD is unmistakable, even from this early in his career. The story concerns electrical engineer MYLES CABOT, who disappears from his home in Boston while performing an electronics experiment. He finds himself transported to the planet Venus where he is captured by the Formians, a race of ant-like creatures.

After learning of the Cupians, a human-like race that is subservient to the Formians, Cabot escapes and falls in love with the Cupian princess LILLA. He goes on to introduce the Cupians to gunpowder and leads them in a revolt against their Formian masters.

You also get the 6-page story, "The Lost Princess", wherein Ted Briggs and Dick Kane come across a beautiful princess, frozen in ice for thousands of years!

This copy has obviously been well-read and enjoyed over its 72 years. There is handwriting on the cover, a 3/4" tear, a few ragged edges and missing corners, and age wrinkles on the back cover. We grade it a 2.5 GD+.

This condition - for this issue - lists for $285 in Overstreet, likely because of its rarity . . and WALLY WOOD's artwork. We think $210 is more like it, even though it is the ONLY copy available here on HipComic!
