Recently deceased artist extraordinaire JOHN ROMITA SR. took over the artistic reins of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN after the abrupt resignation of original co-creator of the character, STEVE DITKO, in the Fall of 1966. Stan Lee decided on ROMITA as the new artist after viewing his work on a SPIDER-MAN/DAREDEVIL crossover in Daredevil #16 and Daredevil #17. ROMITA would pencil or ink over 100 issues and covers of SPIDER-MAN and become Marvel's Art Director in the 1970's.

Here in "In the Hands of The Hunter!", Peter Parker and his friends attend a going-away party for his frenemy Flash Thompson, who is off to serve in the the war in Viet Nam, when Kraven the Hunter arrives, looking for Norman Osborn. Mayhem breaks loose as Peter changes into SPIDER-MAN and fights off the villain!

This is a really nice, terrific-looking and solid copy of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #47, with a strong binding, a glossy cover, supple pages and bright color. The pages have very little toning for a 56-year-old comic, and no foxing. Overstreet prices this issue in a grade of 8.0 VF at $131 . . . but we think $110 is a bit more reasonable!
