Beyond that cover by Curt Swan and George Klein, which looks like 'Mayhem at the Petting Zoo', is the story "Revolt of the Super-Pets", written and laid out by none other than a teenaged Jim Shooter - yep, THAT Jim Shooter, who went on to years later follow Stan Lee as editor-in-chief at Marvel!

Here we get a mash up of 'The Legion of Super-Heroes' with 'The Legion of Super-Pets', with 24 pages of nice human and animal art by Pete Costanza!  He draws a total of 13 teenage super-beings of the 23rd century, as well as five super-pets: Krypto, Comet, Streaky, Beppo and Proty. You get a little bit of backstory on each one of their origins!

After saving Earth from an attack, and then getting chewed out by Brainiac 5 for their trouble, the 5 pets say goodbye to the Legion and take their hurt feelings to the planet of Thanl, where they are worshipped as mighty heroes! They serve as unwitting aids to further attacks, but wind up saving the day and mending their rift with the Legion!  All good fun!

This is a super-nice copy, graded conservatively at 5.0 VG/FN. Overstreet suggests $12 . . we suggest $6, plus only $1.50 for postage, LOWEST of the L•O•W!  That's a deal you can't say 'NEIGH' to!
