Li'l Abner is a satirical American comic strip that appeared in many newspapers in the United States, Canada and Europe, featuring a fictional clan of hillbillies in the impoverished mountain village of Dogpatch, USA. Written and drawn by Al Capp (1909â1979), the strip ran for 43 years, from August 13, 1934 through November 13, 1977. The Sunday page debuted six months after the daily, on February 24, 1935. It was originally distributed by United Feature Syndicate, and later by the Chicago Tribune New York News Syndicate.
Comic strips typically dealt with northern urban experiences before Capp introduced Li'l Abner, the first strip based in the South. The comic strip had 60 million readers in over 900 American newspapers and 100 foreign papers in 28 countries. Capp "had a profound influence on the way the world viewed the American South."
Please note: collecting and selling comics has been my hobby for over 30 years. Due to the hours of my job i can usually only mail packages out on saturdays. I send out first class or priority mail which takes 2-5 days or more to arrive in the usa and air mail international which takes 10 days or more depending on where you live in the world. I do not "sell" postage or packaging and charge less than the actual cost of mailing. I package items securely and wrap well. Most pages come in an archival sleeve with acid free backing board at no extra charge. If you are dissatisfied with an item. Let me know and i will do my best to make it right.
Many thanks to all of my 1,000's of past customers around the world.
enjoy your hobby everyone and have fun collecting!
