Issue Description
Once in New Orleans on the trail of Velasquez, Zagor and Cico are unable to prevent this man to embark on a ship bound for Veracruz. The Spirit with the Hatchet, however, discovers that the pirate Jean Lafitte was captured by Mexican authorities while smuggling weapons along the coasts of Yucatan, and risks the gallows with all its crew. So, Zagor decides to leave for Mexico together with Denise Lafitte, to help her save her father (to whom he owes his life), at the same time continuing the hunt for Velasquez.

- Sergio Bonelli Editore
Volume Description
Zagor was the first regular publication in the standard Sergio Bonelli Editore format (21 x 16 cm) dedicated to the popular eponymous hero.
It was originally published under the "Collana Zenith" volume, that, from issue #52, changed its name to "Zagor" . So the issues have a "double" numbering: Zagor #1 is also Zenith #52, Zagor #2 is also Zenith #53, and so on.
The fist 68 issues (under the "Zagor" numbering) contain stories previously published in strips. From issue #68 they are all unpublished stories.
All covers were drawn by Gallieno Ferri.
