Issue Description
Moon Knight embarks on his first adventure with Steve Rogers’ new Super-team: The Secret Avengers! Captain Barracuda and his crew of pirates that have hijacked a tanker transporting two million barrels of crude that’s worth north of two-hundred mil on the open market and executed 9 hostages just to show they’re not playing around. But neither are Steve Rogers, War Machine, Valkyrie, Ant-Man and their newest recruit, Moon Knight. They’re ready to rumble…and if that means taking on Barracuda’s reinforcements – a legion of creatures from the bowels of the deep blue sea – so be it.
Moon Knight reflects on his inclusion on the Secret Avengers as the team (minus Nova) prepares to drop from a cargo plane to their roving headquarters. Once there, Sharon Carter briefs the team on their mission. A group of pirates called Black Mast has taken over a valuable oil tanker and killed 9 of the 17 crew members. Black Mast is lead by Captain Barracuda, who has a history of capturing tankers and murdering the crews. Barracuda also has possession of the Glove of Asteria, a powerful artifact that disappeared from Project Pegasus after Norman Osborn shut it down. The team descends on the tanker and engages the pirates. In battle, Ant-Man shrinks down and flies into Captain Barracuda’s mouth and tugs on his uvula, causing him gag and take out his own thugs with the Glove. Meanwhile, Moon Knight rescues the hostages with some help from Valkyrie. Barracuda summons sea creatures with the Horn of Proteus, but the team escapes and leaves Barracuda to sink, submerging the horn and removing the creatures. The team returns to land with the remaining hostages.
