Cyclops and Jean struggle to deal with recent events. Jean "lost control of her powers" and killed two anti-mutant terrorists that had been approaching the school and Cyclops wants to talk about it.
The Professor has information that a performer plans to out herself as a mutant for publicity. He sends a task force to talk to her but she's not interested in what the X-Men have to offer.
Over at the White House, there are concerns that pro-mutant policy and an association with Charles Xavier may be hurting the President politically. The White House staffers have rubbed their heads together looking for a way to retain the current mutant agenda while distancing themselves from Xavier and believe that they may have the answer.
