The all-star team of Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley brought a new beginning for Spider-Man that started in this popular Ultimate comic-series. Spider-Man re-imagined for the 21st century! The series ended with issue 133 after the events of Ultimatum and was continued in the two-issue mini-series Ultimatum: Spider-Man - Requiem until it was revamped as Ultimate Comics Spider-Man with a new number 1.

The series also had an Ultimate Spider-Man Annual series which had vital links to the main series.
